The Persephone Ritual

The Persephone ritual has been practiced in this version since October 1993. A symbolic reenactment of the cycles of death and regeneration, it usually consist of the burial of a Persephone idol in late October and the digging up of that idol in early May.
Persephone was the daughter of the ancient Greek goddess of agriculture, Demeter. According to myth, Persephone spent half the year as the queen of the Underworld and half the year above ground.

After many years of performing the ritual in Paris, Efthimios now performs it in Greece. Please contact him if you would like to participate.
